using WUFI-Corr to assess corrosion in wood fasteners

Post by Axelarris » Mon Apr 23, 2018 10:38 am -1100

If I wanted to use WUFI-Corr to estimate corrosion potential of fasteners in wood construction (eg. plywood nailing), what "binder type" should I use?
The results seem to be heavily dependent on this variable, so I understand that the results for wood would be different, but is there a binder type currently available in WUFI-Corr that approximates the results for wood construction?

Currently we have no "binder specification" for wooden materials.

Samuel Zelinka did some investigations on that topic and we wanted to extend and implement the data - but unfortunately couldn't get funding for the required additional tests...

I really hope you can get the funding for this soon. Seems like the most application use of WUFI-Corr for residential and light-commercial in cold climates.
good luck!
