Driving rain and wooden facade panels
Hello! I've been modeling a outer wall's inside corner in a passive house. The house has wooden frame. Model enclosed. In the first model I made I removed the wooden facade paneling so I could ignore rain, which always seems to mess up the calculations. The inner thermal insulation (aluminum coated ...

Re: Iteration breaks down and an abnormal result file is produced
Hello again! I'm having trouble again. I made a small modification to the roof structure by adding a vapour barrier on top of the hollow core slab. All the calculation options are as before, but for some reason, after a few time steps the iteration is halted "***TERMINATED - inner iterations di...

UPDATE! - Iteration breaks down and an abnormal result file is produced
Hello! I've tried to simulate a flat roof structure (picture 1). The materials are (from bottom up) hollow core slab 265 mm, EPS-concrete pouring 120...220 mm, hard mineral wool 370 mm with ventilation cuts (15 mm x 25 mm), roofing felt (bitumen), gravel. Geometry and and grid are in picture 2. For ...

Wufi Graph doesn't open
Hello! I have a simple problem. I can't open Wufi Graph. When I click the icon, the logo jumps on the screen as normal, but it quickly disappears and nothing happens afterwards. This happens no matter where I try to access the program: Wufi Pro, 2D or straight from the file directory. It's been a wh...

Massive masonry outside walls get quickly wet due to driving rain
Hello! I'm modeling a massive masonry outside wall (600 mm, uncoated) and whenever I have driving rain on, the whole brick layer gets wet rather quickly. This is odd, since I've never encountered abnormally high moisture contents in massive masonry outside walls. Should I add a surface condition wit...

Different air exchange source than indoor/outdoor air?
Hello! Is it possible to simulate a model with a ventilated air layer that isn't outdoor air or indoor air? In my model there is a cooler room element (-24 celcius) complete with insulated floors, walls and roof, basically a panel-sandwich-construction. The cooler room element is inside a room on th...

Simulating hollow core slabs in 1D-model
Hello! I need to simulate couple of floor types. One of the floor types has a hollow core slab at the bottom as supporting structure and on top of it, there is thermal insulation, in-situ cast concrete slab, screed and floor covering. It's a bit like a concrete sandwich panel as a floor. I have to m...

Concrete materials in Wufi's database - drying time too long?
Hello, I've been simulating the behaviour of an in-situ concrete slab after it's been covered with a flooring material (vinyl, linoleum, etc.). According to the norms here, a concrete floor may be covered with flooring material (plastic flooring) when the RH is lower than 85 % at 20 % of the slab's ...

Simulating constructions directly in contact with the ground
Hello! I was wondering if there's a good, established way of simulating the ground and constructions connected to it, particularly floor slabs. I'm currently trying to simulate a in-situ concrete slab and see how it behaves with different coating materials. My structure is as follows: 200 mm 8-16 mm...

Re: Saved initial conditions not working with WUFI PRO 5
The work-around I mentioned in earlier post seems to be working and it's not very hard to do, so I'll stick with it. Problem solved!

Re: Saved initial conditions not working with WUFI PRO 5
Ok, I checked this thoroughly again and found out that WUFI always read the initial conditions -file as absolute water content data, even though I had used the model's RH-profile exported in ASCII. Is there a way around this? I'd like to simply provide WUFI with a file with a RH curve instead of che...
