I have taken the time to model the shading elements (roof overhangs, trellis etc.) in my sketchup model for import, everything came in appropriately in my import. I am getting results in my WUFI model, but am over in Cooling Load due to not having entered in the modeled overhangs
Is there a way for WUFI to calculate the shading of a window based on modeled elements, I would hate to have to enter everything into the window overhang section. I remember from my PHIUS training that I could, I just cannot figure out how.
Modeling of shading elements
Re: Modeling of shading elements
I don't think wufi calculated shading from 3D model inputs.
Like you did, I typically add overhangs and shading devices/elements to WUFI geometry for reference when there is an overhang and the like. These still need to be inputted over each window or WUFI will default to calculating window inset for shading. When you add overhang shading to a window it gives feedback visually in the model in the form of a green rectangle with the same depth and height as your inputs which you can then quickly visually compare to the shading device you modeled for reference.
Helpful?

Re: Modeling of shading elements
That is what I thought, I just have a pretty detailed Trellis with a ton of elements and I would hate to have to model and calculate each element of it, that will take me weeks to get it entered in.
Re: Modeling of shading elements
With Version 3.2.0 this shading from '3D visulalization' objects is done, accoring to the newest PHIUS 2018 certification criteria.
For the Case, in the general tab you have to activate 'use WUFI month mean shading factors'
