liquid transport coefficient

Post by Foo Chin Peng »

How do i obtain these values?
a) liquid transport coefficient for suction Dws and
b) liquid transport coefficient for redistribution Dww ?

Are these equivalent to Water vapour transmission rate and water capillary absorption?

thank you

Hi Chin Peng,

you can use WUFI's option to estimate the liquid transport coefficients from the water absorption coefficient ("A-value", the amount of water taken up in a capillary absorption experiment per square meter of exposed surface and per square root of elapsed time).

In the "Hygrothermal Functions" section of the material data dialog, select the "Liquid Transport Coefficient, Suction" or the "Liquid Transport Coefficient, Redistribution", check the option "Generate" and enter
* the water absorption coefficient (in kg/(m² s^(1/2))
* the reference water content (the water content at 80% RH)
* the free saturation

Regards,
Thomas
