The right link to the phd of Künzel is:
https://wufi.de/literatur/K%C3%BCnzel%2 ... nsport.pdf

I also fixed that above.

I have not real example for rotation symmetry available at the moment. But please see image "rotation_axis.jpg" above. If you select rotation axis, a virtual rotation axis is placed with the given distance to the most left surface. Imagine your 2D-drawing is rotating around this axis. The claculation grid remains the same, but in the not displayed z-axis the depth is changing. Instead of of cuboids you will get volumes like trapezoidal prisms or pieces of cakes.

hi,

where do you select "rotation axis" in WUFI 2D?

What do you mean with "The claculation grid ... displayed z-axis the depth is changing"?

it is difficult for me to understand things without a drawing. apologise

then, what I understant it is the next --> see image please

viewing in the WUFI 2D interface the vertical layers, am I right?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
you can find the setting for the rotation axis in WUFI 2D here:
Computational Parameters -> Enhanced and in the list you can find "Radial Diameter R0 [m], which is set to -1 if deactivated.

We are using volume elements for calculation. The volume is defined thickness x * y of calculation grid * 1m in depth (z). For rotation this depth is changed to the new shape of the volume, so less deep on left side and more deep on right side.

Your drawing is right except the left depth at the pipe. It is not zero:

The view in WUFI 2D does not change. Only the volume is calculated according to the rotation, so the results will be slightly different to the Cartesian system.
