How to determine the position of a 3D-object

I want to know after built a 3D-object, how can i determine the position of the object in the house?
For example, i want to build a model of the wooden-framed house with studs in its wall. And i made a stud in the 3D-object as a thermal bridge. But after built the 3d-object, i don't know where is the stud i built in the building. It made me puzzled...

Or it just can't determine the position of the 3D-OBJECT?
