Temperature distribution in a facade section

Hi!

We will analyze in WUFI PRO 6 the temperature distribution in a façade that consists of prefabricated concrete frames hung on the building's supporting structures and cladded with granite stone on the outside.

We will analyze the façade in the heating phase and cooling phase and find out the "worst case" with regard to different temperature / different temperature gradient in granite and concrete.

Can Wufi find out about the day / time when the temperature change is greatest?

Do you have any tips on the best way to find out about this?

Hi RM_Sintef,

WUFI will calculate the hourly temperature and moisture distributions, its ability to analyze these distributions is somewhat limited. However, you can use WUFI's ASCII export function to export temperatures, humidities and water contents to a text file which you can then process and analyze with whichever tools you prefer to use. Among other data, WUFI automatically provides the temperatures, relative humidities and vapour pressures at the two surfaces. If you wish to have these quantities for any locations within the component, put monitor positions into these grid elements.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thanks a lot for the explanation.
For the same simulation I was wondering what is the best way to model the facade, which has prefabricated concrete frames hung on the building's supporting structures, and they are separated by an air layer.
Would it be correct to set the indoor climate equal to outdoor climate, i.e. the external temperature etc. on the inside part as there is a ventilated air layer?
Is there any parameter I should change in the simulations?
