Influence of thermal bridges

Hello,
I have a few questions that I haven't found an answer to anywhere:

1. In WUFI 6.5 it is not clear to me how to enter, for example, the dimensions of rafters in thermal insulation or the dimensions of wooden beams in walls. I need to find out their effect on the overall U of the struct. I have not found this option anywhere.

2. Is it possible to generate an image, either in WUFI PRO or WUFI 2D where the effect temperature progression will be visible in colours (a classic thermal image) see picture in the attachment file.

Thanks
Karel

Hi Karel,
1) WUFI Pro can calculate a single section through the assembly. The rafters are usually not included as the relevant section is the section through the insulated cavity. You may include them by generate effective values.

2) You can generate such "thermal images" with WUFI2DMotion from the WUFI2D results - see below. Please keep in mind that WUFIs main focus is the dynamic thermal and moisture behavior. So its not thought to be used for calculating static heat bridges.

Hi Christian,
Thank you for the information, I'm clear on WUFI2DMotion, thanks. :D

About generating the effective values in WUFI Pro, is there any subroutine in which I can do it directly in WUFI or do I have to do it in some other one?

Thanks
Karel

Hi Karel,
nope, there is no possibility in WUFI. You would have to do that manually.
