Open version 2.1 projects with WUFI-2D version 3.3

Hello,
I want to study the differences between version 2.1 and version 3.3 of WUFI-2D in a project. I have some projects in version 2.1. and I want to open them with version 3.3. Is it possible?
If I can not export the entire project, I would like to export, at least, the geometry and the grid. In version 2.1 was not possible insert air exchange sources and differents climates on the same surface of a wall and I have to simulate them with fictitious materials. Currently, with version 3.3., I want to calculate the same walls but with a construction more realistic (with less materials and with air exchange sources to have a differents climates on the same surface on ventilation walls) and compare results.
Best Regards,

Hello,

with version 3.0 of WUFI2D we deployed a tiny converter program called "w2dconv". This program is more than 6 years old and I have no idea if it still works. But give it a try. Attached you will find the mentioned program.

Best regards
Veit

Hello Veit,

Thanks! It runs but it does not keep some information interesting for my investigation (grid, positions of the monitors, ...).

However, I have different results with two versions when I use a user defined material.

If I use a database material (example: Sander sandstone) the results are similar, except for some timesteps when the humidity decreases suddenly.

But, when I use a material whose properties were assessed experimentally, the results are very differents.

I am simulating a suction experiment and the material is the same than this topic:

http://www.wufi-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=446
In simulations, I only change the material, sander sandstone to calcareous stone with these properties:

I have to change the factors SOR and NSW to 0.01 and 20. In other models I use the ADI-solver but some diverge for all values.

But I got different results with a single wall (80 cm high and 20 cm thick), and it is due to the material. I think I have to change another parameter or some input data are not valid for calculations. I am also using a weather file (measured in laboratory, .kli) but with other weathers continues the same problem.

Hi,

we dropped some things (at least monitor postions) but I've no idea about the grid. In my memory it should has been possible to convert - but it is easy to regenerate.

The results look more reasonable to me - except the CALCAREOUS-STONE where the change is too big.

Of course we fixed numerous bugs during the last 10 years - when I remember correctly also one regarding the suction/redistribution coefficients (when the coefficients were expected to be generated/approximated but the table was not empty data from the table has been used) - perhaps thats the reason for the difference. You can find more info about bug-fixes on http://www.wufi.de/wufi/updates_e.html (the mentioned bug is listed there at the very bottom of the page and 12 years old - looks like you have not updated since :( )

Veit
