Importing NCDC Weather Data
I am trying to import weather data into WUFI from NCDC's SAMSON weather data sets, but I am not sure how to do this. The SAMSON data sets have files in several different formats (zip, DAT, IDX, BIN, etc) and the files appear to be separated into files by numerical weather station. Can anyone guide me in importing these weather data files? Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Importing NCDC Weather Data
WUFI can read a variety of climate file formats which are documented in the on-line help (Reference | Climate Data).
If your climate files happen to have one of the formats listed in the on-line help, WUFI can import the files. Otherwise, you must convert your data to one of the formats WUFI can read. For this purpose, the file formats are documented in detail.
We recommend converting to the *.WAC format; you can use the tool 'CreateClimateFile.xls' in WUFI's 'Tools' folder (copy the data you have into the respective columns in the Excel sheet, enter the geographical location etc., and press the 'Export to .WAC file' button).
If you have problems converting your data and it's only a small number of files, we offer free assistance as customer service.

Thomas
