material properties

Post by C. Furtaw »

I have two questions.
1. The wall section that I want to analyize has a different brick then what is in your database. What are the most important material propertities that I should require for the differnt brick?
2. The Tyvec wall wrap on the wall in quesion is not taped at the seams. Does this make a difference in the analysis?
Thanks,

for 1:
there is no simple answer for this. It depends on what you are interested in.
At least the thermal conductivity and permeability should be known well.

for2:
does it have leakages?

material propertities

Post by C. Furtaw »

Manfred,
For 1 I am interested in the condition of the interior gypsum and the vynl wall covering. I just want the brick to have the correct propertities so the model runs correctly.
For 2, I don't know if it leaks but the Tyvec with out the seams being sealed may give different results. I just want the model correct.
