equilibrium moisture content before calculation

Post by Tommy So »

Hi,

I'm trying analyze how much fixing-stripes (vapor retarder) of a moisture bell effects the results of the measurement.
I splitted up a wall (aerated concreted) into a few layers and put different water contents into these layers to get something like a curve. It looks more like stairs.
Is there any possibility to get a real curve in equilibrium from the beginning of the calculation? The problem is that at the beginning of the calculation it still isn't in an equilibrium and I'm calculating for 2 hours.
It should be real-life conditions because these measurements should be made in dwellings, not at a lab for only few hours.

Thanks in advance

Hello Tommy,
for the initial conditions it would also possible to assign them from a file. If you go to WUFI Motion doing a right click on the water content for example, you can extract the initial conditions. The file starts with the number of grid elements in the x- and y-direction.
A good way would be to find a program you can use to adapt this file to your wished initial conditions (maybe R, or Mathematica) and then assign that changed file.
