%RH or Vapor Pressure

Post by Lucas J. Hamilton »

Am I correct in assuming that WUFI is performing calulations using the actual vapor pressure of the interior conditions specified and not the %RH?

Hi Lucas,

nice to meet you again.

Yes you are right; WUFI calculates the water vapour transport by using the the Fick Law and the water vapour pressure (or the water vapour concentration to be exact) is the driving force for this transport.

For the capillary water transport, the water content is the driving force. But the water content depends on he RH (moisture storage function), therefore the RH can also be named as the driving force for the capillary transport.
