Re: Cannot find database error
Hello Tom,
please reinstall WUFI 2D, but unzip all files to one folder before calling the installation. If you call teh installation from the zip-file, the database is not found and will not be installed.
A connection to the Internet is not necessary...

Thanks for your quick reply. I have done that and it still provides me with the same error.
The data base appears to have been installed

Re: Cannot find database error
Hello Tom,
for some reason Wufi2D doesn´t find your database.
Do the following: Open the file-explorer and enter this in the address line:
%appdata%\WUFI2d-3.3.ini
An editor should open with the ini-file.
If not first enter %appdata%, then edit WUFI2d-3.3.ini.
Add the following lines to the file:
Save and try to start Wufi 2D.
Hope that works,
Christian

Re: Cannot find database error
Christian,
I have done as you suggested and input the information. I have also tried C:\ProgramFiles\WUFI\Database\IBP_24.mdb and this still doesnt work.
It cam to my attention that the directory= section is also blank - should there be something there?
Thanks again
Tom

Hello Tom,
the directories are set later. thats no problem.
I forgot to write: you have to enter the path, where your database is.
Please check the location of your ibp_24.mb before entering the path. further you need full writing rights in this path.
What Windows do you use?
Christian
BTW: Thats my ini on win7:

Re: Cannot find database error
Hi Tom,
yes, the file is different as other informations are added depending on the settings you make.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WUFI\Database
For XP this should work:

You have to find the path where the database is saved. For Windows XP that should be:how do i do this?

Re: Cannot find database error
I have the same problem, except for WUFI Passive 3.2.0.1, on Windows 10. I tried the %appdata% approach but have been unable to load an editor - I don't see WUFI in the app data directory. Please help!

Re: Cannot find database error
Hi BaH,
for WUFI Passive it is an different meaning. In this case the database was not installed.
If you call the installation directly from the zip file, the database installer is not found.
Please unzip all files into some folder and the start the installation out of this folder.
Then it should work.

Re: Cannot find database error
Still having a similar error.
"Database cannot be connected. Program will be closed". I have uninstalled the program, copied the two install files to a local directory on the desktop and ran the install from that directory. Everything appears to be good until I actually start the program and get that error.
Rebooting doesn't seem to make a difference.

Re: Cannot find database error
hi,
sorry, this is an known error related to WUFI Plus or WUFI Passive version 3.2.0.1 if it is first installed without extraced files.
please have a look in the WUFI Plus program folder, there should be a WUFIPLUSconfig .xml file delete this file an try to start WUF Plus / WUFI Passive again.

Re: Cannot find database error
Thank you! That was the trick. Part of it though was just finding the file.
Here is where it was on this machine:
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\WUFI\masterWUFI\WUFIpassive
Thank you very much!

Re: Cannot find database error
Hello,
I am having the same issue mentioned above with WUFI Passive 3.2. It worked just fine yesterday but today when I tried to open a model it first said something like "Database cannot be connect. Program will close." and not it doesn't even say that, it just closes. I tried deleting the .xml config file and that did not work. I also tried re-installing WUFI with no luck.
I'm out of ideas. Any advice would be great.
Thanks!
