VIP in WUFI

Post by Navman »

I'm trying to calculate a wall section including a Vaccum Insulation Panel in WUFI Plus Version 1.2 IBP (full version).

Outside to inside:

Exterior plaster (4 layers) + Leight Expanded Clay Aggregate + VIP + Wall stud made of wood + Mineral wool + Interior gypsum board.

I have defined the material properties for the vacuum insulation panel but
when trying to calculate, I get the following message:

".....In partition are not WUFI-compatible materials"

Any tips of how to get around this?
By the way, what is the best choice among the materials included in WUFI for the wooden wall stud?

Thank you.

Any solution to this? We are using VIPs more and more, and would like to model them.

You can generate your own material, considering the VIP as one layer, maybe based on a vapor barrier and change the thermal conductivity and the other values as needed.
