Necessary system requirements for a PC

Post by Joseph Little »

Hi,
What are the system requirements for a PC to run WUFI Pro and 2D?
Presumably there are threshold for value for processor power, Storage capacity, RAM etc.

Regards,
Joseph

Hi Joseph,
this is stated on our homepage http://www.wufi.com in the introduction section:

Recommended:
Operating System: Windows 7/8.1
CPU: 2 GHz or higher
RAM: 4 GB better more
Video Adapter: 128 MB and better, OpenGL 2.0 capable
Hard Disk: 300 MB free space

Minimum Requirements for WUFIGraph / WUFI Bio:
Java 1.7 or higher

Additional hard disk space needed for project files:
1D: average project: 100-200 MB
2D: average project: 2-4 GB/year

I think every new computer can handle WUFI quite well. WUFI 2D is not supporting multiple cores at the moment, so there will be no high influence. You can check the single core benchmark values for your processor (in my opinion, I7 is faster than I5 and I5 is faster than I3 because of the different architecture/ cache). The more cores your processor has, the better you can work with other programs while WUFI is calculating.
I like the quad-core machines :D.
