Below grade basement exposed to air

Post by RUStacy »

Hi WUFI team,

I am modeling a 3 storeys + 1 basement multifamily building in WUFI Passive. 2 units on each floor so in total 8 units.
The basement is below grade with the south and north side exposed to air (where there are doors and windows) and east and west exposed to earth. What's the best way to model this?
One way I'm thinking is model the 4 storeys above grade and set the ambient environment earth on east and west?

Thank you!
Stacy

Hi Stacy,

you can also model the basement below grade. For the ground surface you can model a component with the Ground on the inner side and the outer air on the outer side. Then you can set some heights from visualized geometrie. You can switch the outer side of the basement components pointing to the ground or outer air.
