Hello,
I have read a few old posts about batch files and about WUFI team working on a way of automatically change input data (project files), but I am not sure about the current status in the possibility to run parametric simulations.
We have check those possibilities on WUFI PRO :
• Modifying WP5/6 seems unfeasible ?
• Running as Batch files is unfeasible ?
• reading the compiled output feasible
and WUFI 2D :
• Modifying input.dat seems feasible, is it sufficient to run the case ?
• Running as batch files is feasible
• Exporting / reading the compiled output is unfeasible ?
What is the status of WUFI updating to a parametric run ?
If modifying manually the input files, and running the simulation with Batch, is there a way to export automatically the ascii files on either WUFI Pro or WUFI 1D ?
Best regards,
Maxime

Re: Parametric study tricks
Hi Maxime,
generally this information is still valid.
Regarding WUFI Pro we are developing a tool for parametric studies, where you will be able to enter the things you like to vary. The tool will generate the project files automatically, calculate them and then output the results in ASCII files. This tool called WUFI Vary will hopefully finished around October and we plan to sell it then.
Best regards
Christian

rightPossibilities on WUFI PRO :

You can run the actual case from command line (see program help), but that does not help you for parametric studies.• Running as Batch files is unfeasible ?
right• reading the compiled output feasible
Right. Most setings can be changed in the input.dat and this is sufficient for running the case. Furthermore, climate data are given in bcli files, but these could also be exchanged.and WUFI 2D :

right - see here: http://www.wufi-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=990#p990• Running as batch files is feasible
The WUFI 2D results are in hdf5 format, so you should be able to process them afterwards.• Exporting / reading the compiled output is unfeasible ?

Re: Parametric study tricks
Hello Christian,
Many thanks for your answer.
Our WUFI 2D version is 3.4. We did not think that the output files of WUFI2D with extension .wfd were hdf5, there are Python Packages to read such files. Is there any parameters you use in the compilation to know ?
We will try something for post-processing the results waiting for your WUFI Vary tool coming up.
Thank you again
Maxime

Re: Parametric study tricks
Hi Maxime,
WUFI 2D 3.4 is quite old. We are at WUFI 2D 4.4 at the moment. The hdf5-file format was introduced with WUFI 2D 4.0 in Dez 2017.
Here is an discussion on how to read the old wfd-files:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=605
BTW: WUFI 2D 4 has some more useful new functions, for example the automatic use of all available processor cores (OpenMP parallelization).
So it may just speed up by updating
Here you can find the update history: https://wufi.de/en/software/wufi-2d/wufi-2d-updates/
