Transfer of user created database information

Sorry for the second post on this but haven't received a response to my first post. My company is providing me a new laptop so I need to understand how to move my user created database info from the old computer to the new - in addition, they will be upgrading me from Pro 6.1 to whatever the newest version is. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. By the way, I went back through my records of how I did this the last time and it seems that the methodology must have changed as I cannot locate the file I copied for previous data moves.
