Hi,
When setting a moisture source in WUFI Pro, one can choose to 'cut off' the source at either free saturation or max. water content. But in WUFI 2D you are not given that choice, and I have not been able to find any info in the help documentation explaining which cutoff threshold is applied.
Does anyone know what cutoff threshold is used in WUFI 2D?
Thanks!
Alan

Re: Moisture source cutoff
Hi Alan,
there is no cutoff in WUFI 2D.
Unfortunately that can lead to water content higher than the pore volume in cases where a source is introducing water into a calculation grid element and from a neighboring element at the same time water is transported in this element during one time step. In this case the calculation will crash. Therefore we introduced the cut off in WUFI Pro. In WUFI 2D that is still outstanding.

Re: Moisture source cutoff
Thanks Christian,
Does this also apply to absorption of wind-driven rain at outdoor boundaries (i.e. in WUFI 2D do the outermost nodes reject excess water above their maximum water content when absorbing rain, or not)?

Re: Moisture source cutoff
Hi Alan,
the amount of rain the pore volume of the outer element can take is iterated in the rain loop. The water which can not be absorbed is rejected. (in WUFI Pro the rejected amount is shown in the status of last calculation)
