Temperature dependent data in Wufi Pro 4.2

Post by Peter Brander »

I´m recently started to use Wufi to simulate external walls and a number of interesting issues with material data have revealed itself.

1. Material data is mostley measured in normal temperature conditions like 20 degrees celsius. In field measurements outer materials often reach tempertures above 50 degrees Celsius depending on sun radiation. This will effect a number och material properties depending om material. Changes in the sorption isotherm will induce higher RH and a bigger vapour difference. On the other hand materials get drier in cold conditions.

Have anybody looked into this effect and found that it isn´t significant. And if it is have anybody got any materialdata to use. As I understand Wufi can´t handle temperature dependent materialdata in any easy manner. Any ideas about how to handle the problem?

Dear Peter,

as it is anyway hard to acquire reliable data for the Sorption Isotherm the effect of the temperature dependency is neglected in WUFI. Try to change the Sorption Isotherm for about 10% and look whether this has really an influence to your construction.

WUFI 5 will have Temperature Dependencies of Thermal Conductivity and Enthalpy.
