Hi,
I am wondering how to define a new material in WUFI 2D when I do not have all its hygrothermal functions available. I want to add Timber HP product. Your help is appreciated here.

Re: Adding New Material- User Defined Material
Hi,
to add a new product to the WUFI database, it is recommended to use an existing, similar material as a basis.
First, open the material database and select a material that is comparable in terms of composition and hygrothermal behaviour.
Do a right click on this material and select "New material" to use it as a template for the new product.
Afterward, adjust the relevant properties based on available product information (e.g. density, thermal conductivity, vapor diffusion resistance, and moisture storage/transport properties).
If only limited information is available, keep the remaining parameters from the reference material to ensure a physically consistent dataset.
In general, when modifying material data sets, it is advisable to perform a sensitivity analysis of the key parameters. This helps to understand the influence of uncertainties in the input data and to assess the robustness of the simulation results.
