Hi,
I am currently calculating a sloped, ventilated roof for a client. There is a cooling ceiling planned on the inside surface of the roof (with plaster boards) that incorporates capillary mats for cooling purposes.
So far, I haven’t been able to find any relevant references for this specialized design, so I wanted to ask if you have any recommendations on how I can account for the cooling ceiling within the given constraints (interior).
Best regards and thank you in advance for your support,
Nils

Hi Nils,
you can model the cooling effect by using a source/sink in WUFI and defining it as a heat sink in the corresponding source file. In this file, the cooling capacity should be specified over the annual course using negative values to represent the cooling effect. There have already been a few discussions in the German forum regarding wall heating systems (“Wandheizung”), which are handled in an analogous way, so it may be helpful to search for this term to find relevant examples.
