Hi fellow WUFI-users!
We examine a medieval Swedish church in our bachelor thesis and are pretty new to WUFI. We are wondering if it is possible to construct a granite wall made up with granite blocks and mortar inbetween, instead of just an massive granite wall. If it is possible, how do we approach it?
Thanks in advance!

Dear Jesper and Hanric,
please see here, its the same discussion with clinker instead of granite.

The only way in WUFI Pro would be to create a material, which includes granite and joints. Otherwise you could set up the wall in 2D modeling both stones and joints.

Then we will try to create a material tho we don't really know the ratio between the mortar and stones.
Thank you for such a quick answer!

Hi Dorita
One approach is to model a 'sandwich' of stone/mortar/stone. This is described by Joseph Little, and 'validated' using a comparison with Wufi 2D in the following document:

We will try that out and see how it compares to our "own" material which we made.
Thank you for the tip!
